de cierre del proyecto F<\/em><em>ondef I+D ID23I10274, titulado\u00a0\u201cValidaci\u00f3n de un nanomaterial filtrante basado en redes metal-org\u00e1nicas (MOFs) y carb\u00f3n mineral para la adsorci\u00f3n de trimetilamina\u201d, iniciativa orientada a enfrentar uno de los principales desaf\u00edos ambientales de la industria pesquera: la emisi\u00f3n de compuestos odor\u00edferos.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"perfect-pullquote algo pullquote-align-left\"><blockquote><p>\u201cciencia aplicada, cuando se articula con distintos actores, puede generar soluciones concretas para la industria y el medio ambiente\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3 el Dr. Ram\u00f3n Ahumada.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/div>\n<p>El proyecto, liderado por el acad\u00e9mico\u00a0Ram\u00f3n Ahumada Rudolph, del\u00a0Laboratorio de Qu\u00edmica Aplicada y Sustentable (LabQAS), perteneciente al Departamento de Qu\u00edmica, tuvo como objetivo reducir la concentraci\u00f3n de trimetilamina, compuesto responsable de los olores caracter\u00edsticos asociados a procesos pesqueros, mediante el desarrollo de un nanomaterial adsorbente basado en redes metal-org\u00e1nicas (MOFs) y carb\u00f3n activado obtenido de carb\u00f3n mineral de Curanilahue.<\/p>\n<p>Durante el seminario se presentaron los principales avances de esta investigaci\u00f3n aplicada, destacando la validaci\u00f3n experimental del material y su potencial implementaci\u00f3n a escala industrial. En este contexto, se subray\u00f3 que la \u201cciencia aplicada, cuando se articula con distintos actores, puede generar soluciones concretas para la industria y el medio ambiente\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3\u00a0 el Dr. Ahumada.<\/p>\n<p>El desarrollo del proyecto cont\u00f3 con un enfoque multidisciplinario, integrando capacidades de distintas \u00e1reas del conocimiento y promoviendo la colaboraci\u00f3n entre academia, sector p\u00fablico y empresas. Participaron como entidades asociadas\u00a0BMR SpA,\u00a0Minera Medina y Castillo Ltda.\u00a0y\u00a0Sociedad Pesquera Landes S.A., esta \u00faltima clave para la validaci\u00f3n del sistema en condiciones reales de operaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Asimismo, se destac\u00f3 el rol del\u00a0Director alterno, Elvert Dur\u00e1n Vivanco, del Departamento de Artes y Tecnolog\u00edas del Dise\u00f1o, quien aport\u00f3 en el\u00a0dise\u00f1o e implementaci\u00f3n de un prototipo de filtro industrial, fortaleciendo la dimensi\u00f3n aplicada del proyecto y su proyecci\u00f3n hacia soluciones tecnol\u00f3gicas con pertinencia industrial.<\/p>\n<p>El equipo investigador resalt\u00f3 adem\u00e1s el papel del\u00a0Laboratorio de Qu\u00edmica Aplicada y Sustentable (LabQAS.cl)\u00a0en el desarrollo de soluciones orientadas a la mitigaci\u00f3n de contaminantes y la valorizaci\u00f3n de residuos, as\u00ed como en la formaci\u00f3n de estudiantes de pregrado y postgrado que realizaron tesis vinculadas al proyecto. Uno de los principales aportes fue la\u00a0valorizaci\u00f3n del carb\u00f3n mineral de bajo rango de la Regi\u00f3n del Biob\u00edo, especialmente de la zona de Curanilahue, evidenciando su potencial para la producci\u00f3n de\u00a0carb\u00f3n activado\u00a0y de\u00a0leonardita, esta \u00faltima empleada como\u00a0enmienda de suelos y fertilizante org\u00e1nico\u00a0gracias a su riqueza en \u00e1cidos h\u00famicos y f\u00falvicos, con aplicaciones relevantes en filtros y procesos de tratamiento ambiental.<\/p>\n<p>En t\u00e9rminos de proyecci\u00f3n, el equipo ya trabaja en el escalamiento del material y en estrategias de transferencia tecnol\u00f3gica, habi\u00e9ndose presentado una\u00a0primera patente\u00a0asociada a estos desarrollos y encontr\u00e1ndose en redacci\u00f3n\u00a0dos solicitudes de patente adicionales, junto con\u00a0dos publicaciones cient\u00edficas\u00a0derivadas de la investigaci\u00f3n del proyecto.
