Sin embargo, para un rayo de luz esto es posible. \u201cHicimos una copia de un rayo de luz de tal modo que, si el rayo se mueve hacia adelante, su copia estar\u00e1 en marcha atr\u00e1s\u201d, explica el autor principal del\u00a0<em>paper\u00a0<\/em>Stephen Walborn, investigador del Instituto Milenio de Investigaci\u00f3n en \u00d3ptica MIRO y acad\u00e9mico del Departamento de F\u00edsica de la Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Hasta ahora, para realizar este fen\u00f3meno hab\u00edan sido utilizado materiales llamados fotorrefractivos, que en general son muy lentos y poco pr\u00e1cticos. Pero con este nuevo sistema el resultado es casi instant\u00e1neo, haci\u00e9ndolo mucho m\u00e1s interesante para algunas aplicaciones. \u201cAnteriormente, este tipo de proceso se estudi\u00f3 en el contexto de rayos l\u00e1ser perfectos. En nuestro trabajo ampliamos lo que se conoce sobre el proceso para incluir haces imperfectos, como los producidos por fuentes de luz baratas, como los LED, por ejemplo.\u201d, agrega Gustavo Ca\u00f1as, coautor del trabajo y acad\u00e9mico del Departamento de F\u00edsica de la Universidad del Bio-B\u00edo.<\/p>\n<p>El acad\u00e9mico UBB destaca la relevancia de esta investigaci\u00f3n indicando que este m\u00e9todo sirve por ejemplo para aumentar la calidad de las comunicaciones en espacio libre, lo que puede ser experimentado d\u00eda a d\u00eda por el com\u00fan de las personas.\u00a0\u201cSer capaz de deshacer el ruido o las imperfecciones sufridas por un rayo de luz, que portan informaci\u00f3n, durante su propagaci\u00f3n podr\u00eda ser una herramienta valiosa para corregir la distorsi\u00f3n que se produce durante las comunicaciones \u00f3pticas en el espacio libre, o en im\u00e1genes remotas o microscop\u00eda\u201d, subraya el Dr. Gustavo Ca\u00f1as.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abEstos resultados podr\u00edan aplicarse en comunicaciones l\u00e1ser de espacio abierto, que es una alternativa de mayor velocidad a la comunicaci\u00f3n de radio frecuencia.
